We will be using a combination of rubber baits and blade baits sometimes throwing a stick bait in the mix. Any size lure is fair game when it come to muskie.
What kind of waters are we fishing?
We will be fishing in the shallow basin of Lake St. Clair. Open water muskie fishing is an awesome experience, keying in on small structure that produces. Shoreline drops, weed beds, mud lines, current breaks, muddy water, rock structure, humps we fish it all!
What is the best time of year?
The best time of year for muskie fishing is all year around. As the water temps start to drop the fish start putting on the feed bag, we usually get the fattest fish in the fall. Summer can produce large fish as well as good numbers.
How many muskie to expect?
Muskie are the fish of 10,000 casts and can be a very tough fish to catch. We have great days of 5+ fish in the boat and tough days with just seeing a few follows. If you go with out a fish on your trip! your next trip will be on me.
When it comes to muskie fishing there are a lot of factors that come into play with how the fish are going to bite. With any type of fishing there are tough days. Weather is a big factor when it comes to fish and can greatly affect the bite.
